Burbage Tunnel
Burbage Tunnel (see picture) is a remnant of the Cromford and High Peak Railway, which operated from 1831 to 1967 Carrying goods from Whaley Bridge to Buxton, All that remains now is a tunnel which is blocked at one end and sealed at the other
That's Macclesfield Old Road bridge. Burbage tunnel is some three quarters of a mile towards Whaley Bridge, and is walled off at both ends.
